LiDAR beats vSLAM every time — especially when the lights are off
The Roborock Qrevo uses LiDAR laser mapping, and the difference against the Roomba S9+’s vSLAM camera system is noticeable the first time you run it at night. LiDAR works perfectly in pitch black, maps faster, and bumps into fewer things along the way. The S9+ can navigate with its camera, but it struggles in low light and tends to take more tentative paths. If your vacuum runs while you’re asleep or away, LiDAR is the clear winner — it doesn’t need to see to know where it’s going.
