Yes, there are specific restrictions: wheelchair users can access the main boardwalk and the elevator, but not the Hurricane Deck — that’s the wooden platform at the bottom where you get blasted by the mist.

The Cave of the Winds elevator takes wheelchairs down to the boardwalk level, and the boardwalk itself is wide enough to roll along. But the Hurricane Deck is only reachable via stairs. No ramp, no alternative path. You’ll still see the Bridal Veil Falls up close from the boardwalk, but you won’t be able to stand directly under the falling water and get drenched.

If you or someone in your group uses a wheelchair, plan on staying on the boardwalk. It’s still a good experience — just not the full “wear a poncho and laugh hysterically” one. The park staff are generally helpful, but the stairs are the stairs.
