Buy Snap Circuits for the electronics, not the code — it nails one and fumbles the other

Buy it for the circuits, not the code — the Snap Circuits pieces are as good as ever, but the coding component doesn’t deliver the same way. The snap-together electronics are brilliant: my kid built a working radio and a light sensor within an hour of opening the box, and the satisfaction of seeing something actually work that you built yourself is unmatched. The code learning app, though, is clunky and abstract in a way that undermines the hands-on magic of the physical kit. If your goal is to teach electronics, this is a great pick. If the priority is coding skills, look elsewhere. For the price, the electronics half alone is worth it — the coding is just a bonus that doesn’t quite land.
