Skip the Skechers Gorun Trail Altitude for anything beyond the playground

I wanted to like these. The Gorun Trail Altitude looks great in the store — rugged styling, fun colors, the kind of shoe a kid would pick for themselves. But on actual trails they fall apart. The tread is too shallow for loose dirt, the support isn’t there for uneven terrain, and after one moderately rocky hike the sole was already showing wear. These are fine for the playground or a paved path at the park. But if you’re buying hiking shoes for real trails, save your money and get something with actual grip and durability.
