If you only buy one science kit this year, make it this one. The National Geographic Mega Science Lab Kit has the best ratio of “things to do” to “things to clean up” I’ve seen in a kids’ science kit — the experiments are genuinely interesting, the materials don’t feel like afterthoughts, and it earns its shelf space by being the kit they reach for again. My only regret is not buying extra refill packs at the same time.
