The Rolling Stones didn’t release any new original music between Charlie Watts’s death in August 2021 and the September 2023 single “Angry” from their album Hackney Diamonds. The song was recorded in late 2022 and early 2023 with Steve Jordan, Watts’s handpicked replacement, on drums. It marked the first studio offering from the band without their longtime drummer.
