Soldered RAM is not user-swappable.

You can’t just replace soldered RAM chips — it requires professional rework and even then compatibility is a gamble.

Soldered RAM (BGA chips) is programmed with specific timings and trained to that exact CPU/motherboard combination. Even swapping with identical chips from the same manufacturer is risky if the batch differs. Mixing Samsung and Hynix? The SPD data won’t match, the memory controller won’t recognize it, and the machine either won’t boot or will crash randomly.

And unless you have a hot air rework station, experience with BGA soldering, and a microscope, you’re going to destroy the motherboard. This isn’t a DIY upgrade.

If you need more RAM, buy a laptop that supports socketed memory next time.
