The iMac M3 integrates its storage controller into the chip itself

The 24-inch iMac M3 uses a proprietary Apple NVMe controller baked into the M3 SoC. It’s not a standard M.2 or SATA interface — the controller is on the chip, the NAND is on the board, and the whole thing is sealed. No upgrades, no swaps.
