The ASUS PN65 upgrades to HDMI 2.1 and 2.5GbE
The PN65 is a clear generational step forward from the PN50. The two big upgrades: HDMI 2.1 (up from 2.0) and 2.5GbE (up from Gigabit). Both matter.
You still get two USB-C ports with one supporting DisplayPort Alt Mode, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, and a DisplayPort 1.4 for good measure. The HDMI 2.1 ports are the real differentiator here — they can drive a single 8K display or two 4K displays at 120 Hz each. That’s proper modern monitor support in a chassis that fits in the palm of your hand.
The 2.5GbE port is a welcome addition for anyone using this as a home server or a NAS-connected workstation. It’s a minor improvement that makes a real difference in daily use — large file transfers go from “annoying” to “fine.”
The PN65 takes everything the PN50 did well and gives it the connectivity upgrade it deserved.
