The M920q puts faster USB on the front, not the back

The M920q has an interesting USB layout: the faster Gen 2 ports are all up front. That makes sense for daily use — you’re plugging in flash drives and external SSDs more often than you’re reaching around back.

Front: two USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A, one USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C, and a combo audio jack. Rear: two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A (slower), two USB 2.0 (keyboard and mouse territory), DisplayPort 1.2, HDMI 1.4, Gigabit Ethernet, and an optional serial port.

The video output choice is worth noting. DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 1.4 are from the era before high-refresh monitors were common — they’ll drive two 4K displays at 60 Hz, but just barely. The optional serial port is a nod to enterprise buyers still running legacy equipment, same as Lenovo’s other M-series machines.
