The Dell XPS 8940 has two PCIe slots and a standard cooler mount
The XPS 8940 gives you a couple of PCIe x1 slots for expansion — throw in a Wi-Fi card, a sound card, or extra USB ports. The Wi-Fi card itself is a removable M.2 2230 module, so you can upgrade that without messing with adapters.
The CPU cooler situation is refreshingly simple: it uses standard LGA 1200 mounts, so you can swap in just about any aftermarket cooler. Dell didn’t pull any proprietary nonsense here, which makes this a solid base for a quiet or high-performance build.
