The DS1621+ uses an AMD Ryzen V1500B quad-core processor, a departure from Intel in Synology’s lineup. It’s got solid compute performance, but note there’s no integrated GPU — so hardware transcoding in Plex or Surveillance Station isn’t happening. Pure storage server territory.
