Niagara Falls is a day trip from Toronto, not New York.
Yes from Toronto, no from New York.
Toronto to Niagara Falls is about 90 minutes by car, and there are frequent bus tours or even GO Transit trains that get you there in under two hours. You can leave after breakfast, walk around, see the falls, take the Maid of the Mist, and be back in time for dinner. Easy.
New York City to Niagara Falls is a different story. Driving is around seven hours each way, and even the fastest train takes about seven hours. That’s a fourteen-hour round trip, plus time at the falls. You’d be leaving at 4 AM and getting back well past midnight. Realistically, you need at least two days from NYC.
If you’re in Toronto, go for it. If you’re in New York, book a hotel or fly into Buffalo. Don’t make it a one-day sprint.
