Electric Ladyland's guest players caused tension in the Experience

The core Experience — Jimi Hendrix on guitar and vocals, Noel Redding on bass, and Mitch Mitchell on drums — handled most of Electric Ladyland, but Hendrix brought in keyboardist Al Kooper, Traffic’s Dave Mason, and session players. The revolving door was one of the reasons Redding felt sidelined.
