Exile on Main St. was recorded across multiple locations, with the main sessions taking place in the basement of Keith Richards’ rented Villa Nellcôte in the South of France during the summer of 1971. Additional recording happened at Olympic Studios and Stargroves in England, and Sunset Sound in Los Angeles.
