King Crimson recorded In the Court of the Crimson King at Wessex Sound after false starts with Tony Clarke

The album was recorded between July 7 and August 13, 1969, at Wessex Sound Studios in London. It was engineered by Robin Thompson with assistance from Tony Page, and produced by the band themselves after initial sessions with Moody Blues producer Tony Clarke failed to work out.
