Blue Train was Coltrane's only album as a leader for Blue Note Records

Blue Note Records released Blue Train in 1958, and it’s the only album Coltrane ever recorded as a leader for the label. That’s wild when you consider how iconic it became — the title track’s bluesy hard-bop swing and Coltrane’s searing solo work make it a cornerstone of the Blue Note catalog, even though he was mostly a sideman during his time there.
