Longfellow's Hiawatha shaped Dvořák's New World Symphony

The third movement scherzo of Dvořák’s New World Symphony was inspired by the dance scene in Longfellow’s The Song of Hiawatha, and the Largo was conceived as a sketch for a cantata based on Hiawatha.
