Chic wrote 'Le Freak' after getting turned away from Studio 54 on New Year's Eve

Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards showed up at Studio 54 on New Year’s Eve 1977 and got turned away at the door. They went home, frustrated, and wrote “Le Freak” — one of the biggest funk songs of all time.
