Purple Rain's last three tracks were recorded live at First Avenue — Prince's first official live recordings

The last three tracks on Purple Rain — “I Would Die 4 U,” “Baby I’m a Star,” and the title track — were recorded live at First Avenue in Minneapolis on August 3, 1983. They were Prince’s first officially released live recordings, though he did add overdubs and edits afterward in the studio.
