Rust Never Sleeps was recorded live at concerts with studio overdubs layered on top

Most of the album was captured live at concerts and then overdubbed in the studio after the fact. Some tracks started as outtakes from the Comes a Time sessions — it’s more of a hybrid than a straight studio record, which suits the ragged Neil Young & Crazy Horse sound.
