Andrew Hill's Point of Departure got the Penguin Guide's crown — their highest honor.

The Penguin Guide to Jazz gave it four stars plus their special ‘crown’ accolade and included it in their Core Collection. For a jazz record, that’s about as close to canonization as it gets.
