The original 1972 Elektra compilation of psychedelic-era garage rock was a double LP. Rhino expanded it into a 15-part series in the 80s, a 4-CD box set in 1998, and a 5-LP 50th anniversary edition in 2023. A compilation that kept earning its keep.
