Hounds of Love was recorded in a barn studio Kate Bush had built for creative freedom

Kate Bush spent two years recording Hounds of Love in a 48-track studio she had built in a barn next to her family home in Kent. She called building her own studio “the best decision I ever made” — and she was right. The creative freedom gave us the “Running Up That Hill” / “Cloudbusting” run that defined 1980s art-pop.
