Tony Iommi kept the bottom string ringing on Paranoid

Iommi explained in the Classic Albums documentary that he always tried to keep the bottom string ringing to fill out the sound nicely. Those blues-influenced solos on Paranoid became the template for heavy metal guitar playing.
