Niagara Falls has a real gallery scene hiding behind the souvenir shops.
The gallery scene around Niagara Falls is more interesting than you’d expect from a tourist town. You get landscape paintings of the falls (a mix of genuine and souvenir-grade), contemporary work, photography, and — notably — Indigenous art drawing on Haudenosaunee heritage. Both sides have rotating exhibits. The Canadian side has a better worthwhile-to-kitsch ratio, but there are gems on both if you walk past the airbrush T-shirt shops.
