Drones are basically banned at Niagara Falls on both sides.

You can’t fly from the US side or the Canadian side without a permit, and those permits are practically impossible to get for recreational use.

On the US side, Niagara Falls State Park is a New York State Park with a blanket ban on drone launches and landings. You need a Special Use Permit from the park, and they almost never grant them for personal filming. Plus the airspace over the falls has restricted zones due to helicopter tours and security — the FAA has a Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) that pops up frequently, and the area is near Niagara Falls International Airport. No go without explicit authorization.

Canada is even stricter. The Niagara Parks Commission has a full drone ban over all parklands, including the Falls and the gorge. No recreational flights, period. You can apply for a permit for commercial film production, but it’s a bureaucratic process and they don’t hand those out to hobbyists. Transport Canada also has rules about flying near people and structures — which is all of the tourist area — and you’d need a Special Flight Operations Certificate (SFOC) on top of the park permit. Realistically, it’s not happening.

If you try anyway, you risk a fine, confiscation of the drone, and a headache with border authorities. Not worth it.

Just use a good camera from the observation platforms. The view is better anyway.
