Don't upgrade soldered RAM on a cheap laptop.

No. The math doesn’t work. If the upgrade service costs more than the laptop is worth, you’re throwing good money after bad. Even if you find a shop willing to do it (and most won’t touch soldered RAM), the risk of bricking the machine is real. That $300 laptop isn’t suddenly a $600 laptop with 16GB of RAM — it’s still a $300 laptop with a slow processor and a terrible screen.

Plus, soldered RAM upgrades are almost never officially supported. You’re relying on a third party with a hot air rework station and a prayer. Performance gains are marginal because the CPU and storage are usually the real bottlenecks on budget machines anyway.

If you need more RAM, buy a laptop that comes with it from the factory. Future you will thank you.
