Don't try upgrading soldered RAM at home.
Probably not without damaging something. Even with a BGA rework station, the risk of lifting nearby components or warping the board is high.
Soldered RAM isn’t meant to be user-serviceable. Laptops with LPDDR have the RAM tightly packed next to the CPU and other chips. A BGA rework station can heat the whole area, but controlling that heat precisely enough to avoid melting adjacent solder balls or popping capacitors is genuinely difficult. You’d need a preheater, proper reflow profile, stencil, and a lot of practice on dead boards first.
Most people who try this end up with a brick. The motherboard is thin, the traces are fragile, and one slip of the hot air nozzle can scrape off tiny resistors. Even if you succeed, the new RAM might not be recognized without a firmware patch.
This is not where you save money. Pay a specialist or buy a laptop with the RAM you need from the start.
