Don't rely on software for soldered RAM specs.

Usually not. Soldered RAM doesn’t plug into a standard slot, so tools like CPU-Z and HWiNFO often can’t read the SPD (Serial Presence Detect) chip that holds manufacturer and timing info. You’ll get capacity and maybe speed, but the rest is a blank.

Some OEMs (Dell, Lenovo, HP) put the full specs in the BIOS or on their support page. For a Framework or other modular laptop, the RAM is usually listed in the manual. But if you’re looking at a cheap ultrabook with RAM glued to the board, software just won’t tell you.

If you’re planning an upgrade, don’t bother hunting for timings. Soldered RAM is what it is—you can’t swap it. Check the motherboard’s official specs instead.
