Don't force it, and you'll be fine.

Yes, you can bend the pins, but it’s avoidable with basic care. The risk is no higher just because the laptop also has soldered RAM – the replaceable slot works the same way as any laptop’s.

Motherboard pins are fragile. If you push the stick in crooked or use too much force, you can bend or break them. But this is the same risk on every laptop with a socketed module. The soldered RAM doesn’t change the physics.

Just line up the notch, press straight down evenly until the clips snap. If it doesn’t slide in easily, you’re misaligned. Don’t rock it side to side. That’s how pins get bent.

Better to double-check alignment than to explain to support why your motherboard is now a paperweight.
