And yes, they typically offer a warranty—usually 30–90 days on the workmanship. The catch? If the board gets damaged during the process or the new RAM fails later, you’re often out the cost of the device or stuck with a dead board. These are microsoldering procedures; there’s always a chance of bricking it.

So the warranty only covers their labor, not your laptop’s overall health long-term. It’s not like buying a new laptop with a full warranty. Only pursue this if you have a rare machine where RAM is soldered and you need more memory—and you’re okay losing the whole device if it goes wrong. Otherwise, sell it and buy a model with more RAM.

Treat it as a last resort, not a standard upgrade path.
